The 1970s

Our search for new techniques in surgery continued.

For us, the onset of Minimally Invasive Surgery was our introduction to Australia of the Medi-tech Steerable Catheter.  It was designed to perform operative techniques without making an incision.  Its common use was the extraction of retained gall stones through a T tube tract.

Medi-tech (Interventional Radiology) is part of the BOSTON SCIENTIFIC GROUP which includes:

Mansfield (Interventional Cardiology) & Microvasive (Catheters for GI endoscopy and Urology).
